Who we are
At Twice Upon a Time, we believe every story is better when it’s shared—and sometimes, when it’s told twice.
We’re a mother-daughter duo brought together by a shared love of books, especially fantasy, romantasy, and unforgettable love stories. What makes our perspective unique? We don’t just read the same genres, we often read the same books, and experience them through two very different lenses: one adult, one teen.
Lena
Lena’s love for books began over 30 years ago, when she first discovered His Dark Materials—and never looked back. Within a few years, she had read her way through nearly every age-appropriate book in her local library and began writing short stories for a local newspaper.
Today, she works as an editor and textbook author, with over a decade of experience in content and storytelling. After Finja was born, she also founded the children’s book blog Reading Castle, creating thoughtful reviews and recommendations for young readers.
Finja
Finja’s reading journey started more recently, but with just as much intensity. A few months ago, she picked up the Powerless trilogy and couldn’t put it down. Since then, she’s been on a mission to find her next favorite fantasy or romance read.
She brings a fresh, honest teen perspective to every book—sharing what truly resonates, what feels overhyped, and what’s worth recommending to other readers her age.
