Book review: “Mistakes Were Made” by Lucy Score

Do you ever feel like there’s so much going on in the world that you just need one weekend with a feel-good book to be back to your usually cheerful self? 📖

Two weeks ago, I visited one of my favorite local romance bookstores with exactly this vision: finding an easy read that feels good, lightens my mood, and gets me out of a bit of a slump. The team at Eternal Endings in Snohomish is amazing — whatever book you are looking for, whatever mood you’re in, they help you find it. This is how “Mistakes Were Made” by Lucy Score in my hands. The standalone sequel to the small-town romance “Story of My Life” brought me back to some of last summer’s favorite characters.

The story revolves around jobless and homeless literary agent Zoey, a force to be reckoned with, and her handsome though slightly boring soon-to-be landlord Gage. Gage is looking for Mrs. Right, Zoey prefers one-night stands, and so the chaos begins…

“Mistakes Were Made” is a fun feel-good read that makes you chuckle and cross your fingers for the mandatory happy ending. It’s a bit on the slower side, but never boring. A great vacation read, or perfect for those weeks where you need some cheering up!
