Who’s Lena?

We jumped right in, but I wanted to take a moment to say Hello and thank you for being here. This blog is a product of love, but it’s still a bit chaotic (we’ll figure it out, I promise!), so it means a lot that you landed on our site.

I’m Lena, I’m the mom of the mother-daughter-duo creating this page. I have been a reader ever since I discovered that foreigns worlds can be just a page away. My first and still favorite read is the “His dark materials” trilogy, which is gracing my bookshelves in multiple languages and editions. When I was 13, I had read all the age-appropriate books in our local library. I now read almost everything I get my hands on, but time is limited - these days I focus mostly on Romance, Romantasy, Fantasy, and the occasional historic fiction.

I am working as a UX Content Designer in an industry increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, which made me realize how much I missed the art of long-form writing, the authenticity of the human voice, the magic of worlds created by authors and brought to life on the page.

This blog is my way of holding onto that love: For writing, for books, and for supporting local bookstores in an increasingly digital world. For teaching my daughter how to write without or with minimal support of ChatGPT, and for sharing my love for books with her.

My TBR list is endless - this is on my short list right now:

  • “A court of mist and fury” - I still have the whole Sarah J. Maas universe to re-read before the launch of her newest book in October!

  • Book club pick: “Savage lands” by Stacey Marise Brown

  • “The four winds” by Kristin Hannah
